Oceans Now in Google Earth

Today Google launched a new version of Google Earth which lets users dive beneath the surface of the sea and explore the wonders of the ocean. MCBI has worked with Google to make this update a success, advising them through the creative process, and contributing content for the site.

Letter to the President

MCBI board member Jim Greenwood, who was instrumental to our efforts to establish the recent Pacific marine national monuments, is now asking President Obama to stop overfishing, one of the most damaging practices in our oceans. Mr. Greenwood and Bruce Babbitt co-chaired a group of prominent scientists and policymakers that sent a report titled Oceans of Abundance to President Obama which recommends what he should do to restore abundant oceans that offer a sustainable source of food, employment, and diverse wildlife for the American people.
